Appointment of Grace College (UQ) Principal .

Following an extensive national and international search conducted by anzuk executive, the Council of Grace College (UQ), is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Peter Walker as the College’s sixth Principal.

Peter has 18 years of experience with University residential Colleges; he is currently Deputy Master at King’s College (UQ), having held that role since February 2017. Prior to this appointment he was Warden of Carrington College at the University of Otago (2013-2017), Head of Cumberland College at the University of Otago (2008 – 2013) and Residential Manager of O’Rourke Hall at the University of Auckland (2004-2008).

Peter possesses a student-centred approach in leading a College, having a clear  commitment to being inclusive, along with a determination to help residents achieve their academic and personal goals. He is a data-informed decision maker and believes in the importance of every interaction with every person.

Peter is focussed upon the importance of building positive and enthusiastic teams, whose members work to the highest standards to serve residents and colleagues. His values and ethics strongly align with Grace’s Christian traditions and a commitment towards diversity, inclusion and healthy relationships.

In his spare time, Peter is a runner, keen photographer and drone-user and reader.   Peter, his wife Sarah and sons Theo, Zac and Toby will reside at the College. He  will commence as Principal on Monday 3 April. In the meantime, Ms Roxana Paterson is the Acting Principal and will revert to her former role of Deputy Principal when Peter commences.

We look forward to welcoming Peter, Sarah and their boys to Grace College.
